Life in Bloom…What We Focus On-Grows

Spring in Chicago is finicky at best.

Sometimes she’s an absolute stunner-fully her immaculate self in bloom.
These are the days when everything in life feels…possible again. Youth is remembered and embodied, laughter rolls from our faces with an organic ease,

because it’s challenging not to smile when the sun is shining down on us.
Many spring days in Chicago, however…skies are grey. And on those days, it is sometimes difficult to shake the salty crevices of life’s seeming mundaneness- and to recall and walk in our sense of wonder, imaginations, truth & humanity.
In as much as we sometimes forget to breathe and to trust…that Spring is indeed and inevitably coming.

Life is in bloom precisely where we are. Even if and when it we can’t see it.
So, I will take time today to trust that even when the fog and rain clouds dull the shine of our incredible blue skies and lives…that whatever I choose to focus on today- will be what blooms in my heart, perspective and life tomorrow- and in the moments and living which will unfold ahead.

I close my eyes as the seemingly endless sheets of rain fall. I remind myself all that is planted and blooming needs the life-giving rainwater to prepare them for bloom. I open my eyes and feel the sunshine Springing up inside of me.
Gratitude…makes what we have enough.
